However, to catch a walleye from shore you would need to be extremely patient.

Things Required:

– Fishing reel with braided line
– Barbed fishing hooks

Instructions

  • 1

    Gather all your equipment

It is extremely important to gather all the equipment together before you start fishing. You have all the things that you require before, during and after fishing right besides you.

  • 2

    Setup the equipment

The second thing is to set the fishing rod and the fishing reel. Try to get a fishing reel with a braided line as they are relatively stronger than the monofilament ones and will be able to hold the walleyes when you pull them. Walleyes are heavier in weight and you would need stronger lines to keep hold.

  • 3

Tie weight to the fishing reel

Next tie the weight at the end of the braided line. The weight is one of the most important things in fishing. You must add a weight that you will be able to pull easily and it has to be according to the condition of the water. Usually running water would require heavy weights at the end of the line.

    Bait with minnows

You must use two hooks when you are hunting for walleyes. Bait each hook with live minnows which are the most popular bait when catching walleyes. You can use as many minnows as you like but try not to over crowd the hooks.

  • 5

    Wait for the target

Once you have casted your line into the water, you will have to wait for the target. This will require a lot of patience from you as walleyes are difficult to catch. You must make sure that you cast your fishing line into deep waters as the walleyes are not found in waters with lesser depth.
