How to Change a QuarkXPress Document’s Page Size

QuarkXPress is one of the most easy to use desktop publishing software. It was initially released in 1987 by Quark Inc. The software makes use of the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) environment in order to enable a user to easily create or edit complex page layouts. Apart from being compatible with Windows, QuarkXPress is also compatible with Mac OS X which makes it even more useful. If you ever find yourself in need of changing the page size in a QuarkXPress document, here is what would have to do.

Instructions

  • 1

Launch a new session of QuarkXPress and wait momentarily for the software to load completely. On a computer with good processor speed, QuarkXPress should load completely in about 5 seconds at the most.

  • 2

Click the button labelled ‘Open’ under the ‘File’ menu and navigate to the desired QuarkXPress document. Use the navigation buttons on the dialogue box which appears on the screen after you click ‘Open’.

  • 3

Double click on the QuarkXPress document icon in order to open it in the editing mode. Now you make changes to the page size of the QuarkXPress document.

  • 4

Now click on the ‘Layout’ menu and from the dropdown menu which appears on the screen, click ‘Layout Properties’.

  • 5

QuarkXPress will open a dialogue box labelled ‘Layout Properties’. This where you will find all the options related to the task you are planning to accomplish.

  • 6

In the ‘Layout Properties’ dialogue box, you will see a pull-down menu labelled ‘Size’. Click that pull-down menu and you will see a number of available page size options. Click on your desired option. Just make sure that the size you select is big enough to accommodate all the information which was originally stored on that page. This is important to prevent creation of new pages in the QuarkXPress document.
