How To Change the Color of a Wig
Wigs have been hugely popular in the last few years. They are widely used as part of costumes in theatre or films and are preferred by women. A major problem is to dye the synthetic hair on the wig. While human hair is very easy to dye, wigs require a lot more time and hard work. The process is the same for both but the latter requires to be a lot more careful and delicate during the process to make sure the hair is not damaged in any way.

Choose the colour to dye
The first thing in the process to colour your wig is to select the dye which has to be used. This is the most important part as choosing the correct colour is crucial. Any variation from the colour required would mean all the hard work done goes in vain. If you need the wig to blend in with your natural hair chose the colour accordingly whereas if you intend to cover the natural hair, make any choice of your desire -

Collect all the supplies
Gather everything you need in dying the wig beforehand, so that you are not distracted when you are dying the wig. Leaving the wig to find something else may not give you the desired results as the colour has to be consistent throughout -

Apply the dye to the wig
Place the wig on a stand firmly making sure that it does not fall during the process. You should place a towel or a set of tissue paper beneath the stand to make sure the colour does not spoil the surface under the stand. The process of applying hair colour to the wig is the same as you apply it to your hair. In this case, you have to be a little careful so that you do not damage the hair in any way -

Wash the wig with cold water
After applying the hair colour, set aside for 15 minutes. When the dye dries off, rinse the wig with cold water to make sure all the dye is removed from the hair. Place the wig back on the stand and wait for it to dry. You can use a hair drier in this case if you are in a hurry. -

Style the wig
Comb the hair as you desire. A wide-tooth comb can be used to avoid any damage to the hair on the wig. Hair wax or spray can be used for styling purposes
