How to Change the Default Background and Text Colors on Web Pages

Many times it happens that you open a web page and the text and background colour look so messy that you find it really difficult to read the content on the page. Many people prefer to have on static text and background colour for all pages, when it comes to browsing different sites on the internet.

If you want to use custom text and background colours for web pages, then the good news is that you have the option to do so. It is really easy to change the colours, provided that you know the right process.

    First of all, you need to click the “Start” button present at the bottom left of the desktop. You will now see the “Start” menu appearing on the screen, with the “Control Panel” icon present at the middle right of the menu. Click on it, and you will see a new window appearing on your screen.

    Locate and double click the “Internet Options” icon, which will open the “Internet Properties” window. Here, you should make sure that the “General” tab is active.

    At the bottom of the “Internet Properties” window, you will see the “Colours” button present under “Appearance” section. You need to click on it, in order to access the “Colours” window, which you can use to change the text and background colours.

    You should first unselect the “Use Windows Colours” checkbox, in a bid to set your custom colours.

    Click the box appearing against “Text” written in the window, and select a colour from different colour boxes that just appeared in front of you. Click on the colour of your choice and click “OK”.

    Now click the box appearing against “Background” written in the window, and repeat the same process to select the colour for background, as you did to change the text colour.

    Click “OK” to apply the changes that you have made to the text and background colours.

    You can now open the Internet Explorer and enter any URL in the address bar. Press the “Enter” key on your keyboard to navigate to the site you mentioned in the address bar. You will now see the text and the background colour changed to the ones you selected.
