How to Choose the Right Art Frame
Art can be a great way of decorating one’s home. It can take away the blandness of the walls and makes them look classy. Sometimes people accessorise the art work in different ways. Frames are certainly the first ones that come to mind.
It is a good way of adding value to the artwork. However, the frames must be carefully chosen in order for them to look good and add value to the work. If done in an inappropriate manner, it will certainly take some of the value away from the artwork.

1
Style of Art
While considering the type of the frame that you are looking for, it is a good idea to consider the type of artwork for which you are looking to get the frame for. If it is a traditional painting, a slightly bigger frame may be the ideal fit. However, in case of contemporary art, a thinner and lighter looking frame will work better. -
2
Size
The size of the frame should not undermine the artwork itself. It should also not be something so small that it literally goes unnoticed. Have a size that is sufficient and looks good. -
3
Colours
The colours of the frame should complement the colours in the art work. They do not need to be the same, and similar colours will do. If contrasting colours look well, they should be considered as well. -
4
Room Décor
While you select the frame, do keep in view the overall décor that is already present in the room. Make sure that the frame does not look out of place in comparison with the décor. -
5
The Wall
The colour of the wall as well as it being plain or textured should have a say in the selection of the frame. Keeping these finer details in mind will help you in getting the perfect frame. -
6
Alone or in Group
Is the painting going to be sitting on the wall alone or there are other paintings alongside it as well?
In case of the former, a bigger frame will look quite well in most cases. However, if the wall is crowded by artworks, than may be it is not a bad idea to keep the frame size to an acceptable minimum. -
7
The Room Itself
The last aspect to keep in mind is how the overall room will look with the frame. Does it gel well with the room itself or not. Is it of the right colour, size and texture or otherwise? Answer these questions and you should be able to get the right frame.
