How to Clean a Birdcage Veil

A birdcage veil or a wedding veil is a precious thing which a bride gives to their friends or passes on to future generations. It is usually made of netting, lace or tulle and is very fine. It is not a difficult task as you can clean it in your home rather than spending money on a professional.

– Oxygen cleanser
– Fabric wash
– Towel
– Tub
– Lukewarm water

    Fill a tub with lukewarm water

    First you need to make sure that the birdcage veil is washable or not. If it is washable, get a tub and fill it with lukewarm water. Instead of a large tub, you can fill a basin or a sink with lukewarm water.

    Add oxygen cleanser and fabric wash in tub

    After filling the tub with lukewarm water, you need to add oxygen cleanser and fabric wash. Remember to add small quantity of oxygen cleanser and the fabric wash inside the tub.

    Soak the wedding veil

    Now you need to soak the birdcage veil in the mixture and let it stay there for few minutes. You need to move the veil inside the tub or basin few times. This will let the mixture infiltrate into the veil.

    Clean the veil with hands

    Next you need to use your hands in order to clean the birdcage veil. Remember to use your hands gently on the veil and then swish it in water.

    Use cold water

    Now you need to clean the veil after running it under cold water. This will not only remove the cleaning solution but will also get rid of the dirt. Fill a tub with clean cold water and rinse the veil in it. Repeat if necessary.
