How to Clean Egg Stains

Egg yolks and whole eggs contains considerable amount of protein and are mostly used for cookery. It has great nutritional value and is consumed in almost every household. Egg is also an essential ingredient for several food products. However, dropping raw eggs on your clothes or tablecloth may leave stains which are hard to remove. It becomes a recipe for a big disaster.

There is no need to panic as after following these steps, you can easily clean the egg stains. However, you need to act quickly in order to remove the egg stains easily. When egg dries, it can become semi-permanent and more difficult to scrape out.

Things Required:

– Paper towel
– Spatula
– Warm water
– Dish cloth, clean
– Water
– Cream of tartar
– 1 aspirin
– Bowl for mixing paste
– Spoon for mixing paste

    Scrapping the egg stain

    After you drop raw egg on your clothes or the tablecloth, quickly rub off the egg stain as much as you can. This will help remove the stain rapidly and easily.

    You can use napkins, paper towels or even a spatula to scrape out the egg stain.

    Wet a clean dish cloth in warm water

    Next you need to dip a clean dish cloth in warm water. Now use this dish cloth to sponge off the rest of the egg stain.

    Remember to use warm water and not hot water as you don’t want the egg to be cooked.

    Make a paste

    After scraping out the rest of the egg stain, check your fabric, clothe or the tablecloth, that stain has been removed or not.

    If not then make a paste to remove the stain. You need to mix water and cream of tartar in one crushed aspirin.

    Apply the paste on the egg stain

    After making the paste, apply the past on the egg stain and leave for almost 30 minutes. You need to rub the paste on the stain which you can do with the help of a tablespoon.

    Wash off the paste

    Rinse off the paste with warm water. There will be no trace of the egg stain.

    Repeat if required

    In case the stain is still there, apply the paste again and leave for another half hour. Rinse it off later to get your fabric clean.

    Wash and dry the fabric

    After removing the stain, wash your fabric item as usual. You can now use your fabric again.
