How to Clean Sapphire Jewelry
Owning sapphire jewellery is a dream of any woman. These stones are beautiful and they can add that much needed grace to your personality. Sapphire is a gemstone that comes in every colour. Do not confuse between sapphire and ruby, they both are the same. A red sapphire is known as ruby. Cleaning and maintaining sapphire might not be as easy as most woman think. These stones, unlike diamond, can easily be damaged. Although they are quite sturdy, they are prone to chipping off or fading off with time. In other words, you need to learn how to take care of your sapphire jewellery if you want them to sparkle every time you wear them.

Use a soft cotton cloth or a jewellery cleaning material to clean your sapphire jewellery. Never use a hard cloth to clean the sapphire.

Next, fill up a small bowl with warm water.

Add a little soft detergent to the water and mix it well. Do not use a detergent that comes with bleach and other chemicals. You will have to use a simple gentle detergent to get the job done.

Now, dip the cloth into the water to moisten it for cleaning.

Start wiping the sapphire jewellery to clean the dirt off. Make sure you do this in a round motion and not straight across. You do not want to accumulate the debris at the corners.

If your sapphires are not yet cleaned, dip them in the water for some time. Leave them there for around 15 minutes to let the debris soak.

Now, use a toothbrush to brush off the debris gently. Make sure you are not using a hard toothbrush as that can damage the stone. Use a soft gentle toothbrush of small head size.

To remove residue, gently rub the stone with the toothbrush in rounded motions.

Now, wipe off the moisture with a dry cloth.

Keep the sapphire to dry in normal conditions.
