After the mixture has been added to the reservoir, start the coffee maker. Basically, you are now using the coffee maker but rather than making coffee, you are using this vinegar and water solution to clean your machine. Therefore, keep using the coffee maker in a similar way, and replace coffee with this cleaning solution which you made back in step one.

Turn off the coffee maker once you are fully satisfied. Do not try to take out the liquid; in fact, you need to wait for at least 20 minutes so that the pot can full cool down with the mixture inside it. This is going to make the vinegar-water solution fully clean your coffee maker from the inside.
