How to Clean Yourself in the Bath

Personal hygiene is the most important aspect of maintaining good health. If you practice good personal hygiene you not only protect yourself from many infectious diseases but the people around you as well. The best way to keep yourself clean and stink-free is bathing. While a nice soak in the bath is always relaxing and enjoyable, don’t forget to clean yourself properly, so that you come out of the tub nice and fresh with your body smelling sweet.

Things Required:

– Warm water
– Bath tub (large enough to submerge yourself)
– Shampoo & Conditioner
– Scrub
– Scrub cloths
– Towel
– Bubble bath
– Rubber duckies (optional)
– Candles (optional)

Instructions

  • 1

First of all gather all the things you will need during the bath. Remember once you are in the tub it is very difficult to get back out just to grab something you needed to begin with.

  • 2

Fill the bath tub with warm water, a bit hotter than normal. However, if you have sensitive skin then use lukewarm water, to make sure you don’t get redness on your skin. The temperature of the water is entirely up to you as it depends on your personal preference. However, it is a good idea to not use water that is too hot as it can scorch your skin and cause considerable discomfort. Also, remember that while filling the tube you should factor your weight in the water, so do not fill the tub to the very top. Once you get inside the water level will increase anyways.

  • 3

Use a mild soap to prepare the bath. Also, add some product containing a foaming agent to create bubbles in the tub. For sensitive skin, use some bathing product labelled ‘for sensitive skin’ to avoid irritation or itching. Try not to put too much bubble bath in your tub as it can overflow and go over the sides of the tub to make a mess.

Soak in the bath for 10-15 minutes. Soaking in will remove the dirt off you as well as dissolve harmful bacteria. You might want to close your eyes or put on your personal music player as you try to relax. Take slow deep breaths as you soak in the tube. Let the bubble bath do its work as it cleans your body.

  • 5

Scrub your body thoroughly to remove all the grime and dead skin. You can use a loofah or other type of scrubbing brush designed for the tub. Start from your back and work your way around slowly. Remember to scrub gently and do not use too much force which might damage your skin.

  • 6

After everything is clean, shampoo and condition your hair. If you have long hair then you will want to condition your hair twice. It is up to you when it comes to the brand or type of shampoo and conditioner that you use. Try not to get any shampoo or conditioner in your eyes as it can sting and cause some discomfort. If you do get some in your eyes then gently rinse with water.

Soak for another 15 minutes allowing your body to rest. Clean your body off for the finish, get out of the tub and pat yourself dry with a towel. While you are resting try to relax and let all of the stress fade away. Remember do not fall asleep in the tube as it can be dangerous if you slip down towards the water. Use a large sized towel which is soft and dry yourself off.

If you have dry skin, apply cream or lotion all over your body, to keep it from drying. It will also make you feel lovely and fresh. It is up to you if you feel like you need to use lotion after your bath.
