How to Setup BackupBuddy for Backups
BackupBuddy is an extremely useful plug-in which provides additional security in the event of data loss. Its backup, restoration and migration process is really quick, reliable and simple. Before getting started, you have to configure the below items on the BackupBuddy Settings page.
Email notifications – This will enable status email notifications
ImportBuddy & RepairBuddy passwords – This will allow you to download these scripts

Backup & Restore
To access the Backup & Restore page, go to BackupBuddy in your dashboard and then Backup & Restore.
On this page, you have these options; Backup Options – Database Backup and Full Backup
If you click on Database Backup or Full Backup, you will see the whole procedure of backup process.

Malware Scan
By clicking on Malware Scan icon which is located under BackupBuddy, your site will be started immediately for scanning of malware.
Apart from other notifications, you will also view a Blacklisting Status page. It is really important for you to be aware of the results of this assessment. Make sure that your site should not be blacklisted anywhere. -

Server Info
Navigate to your dashboard in order to access your Server Configurations. Go to BackupBuddy and then Server Info. Here you can get details about everything in the form of several charts and visual indicators, which eventually let you know if everything is working properly or not.

Scheduling
BackupBuddy also allows scheduling your backups. This helps in ensuring that your backups should come on a daily basis without the need of conducting the backup manually.
In case you need an additional security that comes with a scheduled backup, you certainly want to configure this section.

Settings
As discussed above that you need to do some essential settings. These are;
- Email notifications – This will enable status email notifications.
- ImportBuddy & RepairBuddy passwords – This will allow you to download these scripts
To set your passwords, there are other settings as well which are located under “General Options”.
