How to Convince Others That You Aren’t Laying
It is a general rule of communication to build confidence in the person you are talking to. Unfortunately, most of us find it difficult to get our ideas accepted by those we are talking. Human beings are naturally programmed to reject any new opinion or belief that is contradictory to their already accepted and established facts. Therefore, making others believe that you are speaking the truth and not lying can be difficult, especially if you are offering them a new belief to accept.

Your first step in making someone accept that you are not lying is to shake his or her existing belief. Before throwing your ideas on them, accept their ideas and find flaws in them. This is how you deal with people who are not ready to accept ideas. You need to show them where they are wrong before giving them a solution.

Listen to the other person and absorb his or her ideas. Every person wants his or her ideas to be accepted. You cannot be an influential speaker, whether in public or in person, if you are not ready to listen. Nobody will accept your ideas unless you accept theirs. Let them run out of gas before you bombard them with your opinions.

Back up your opinions with facts and relevant sources. This is probably the best way of making sure nobody finds you lying. Even if you are presenting them with a theory that does not exist, you need to base it on a certain set of rules that they have already accepted.

Play with their subconscious mind. Remember, most people do not even understand that they have been programmed since childhood to believe in certain principles and rules. You need to get in there and shake up their rules before you throw your new ones on them. You can easily achieve this by asking them questions or puzzles regarding their believes. Make them confused before conquering them.

Strongly believe in your idea before you want others to. If your opponent is smart he will instantly realise that you are not a strong believer and he will shake up your beliefs before you could shake his.
