Bourbon Chicken is made from simple ingredients and is prepared with an average effort. Try this unbeatable dish next time to entertain your family members, friends or colleagues.
Ingredients
  • Skinless, boneless chicken - 4 breast halves
  • Ground ginger - 1 teaspoon
  • Soy sauce - 4 ounces
  • Dried minced onion - 2 tablespoons
  • Packed brown sugar - ½ cup
  • Bourbon - ⅜ cup
  • Garlic powder - ½ teaspoon
  • Coriander leaves, chopped onion leaves or broccoli for garnishing- optional
Instructions
  1. Take some time to properly wash your hands and the entire work surface that you will be using to prepare this delicious recipe.
  2. Remember to also wash all the utensils, ingredients and other items that you will need to put this dish together.
  3. Always keep your work area clean and free from any clutter so that you can find what you are looking for while cooking.
  4. Take a medium mixing bowl and place 1 teaspoon ground ginger, 4 ounces of soy sauce; 2 tablespoons dried minced onion, ⅜ cup bourbon and ½ teaspoon garlic powder in it.
  5. You can reduce the amount of bourbon or garlic powder to lighten the taste as this will not have a significant impact on the overall flavour of this dish.
  6. Stir all the ingredients until everything is mixed thoroughly.
  7. Grab a large baking dish and place the 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves in it.
  8. Pour the mixture in the mixing bowl over the chicken pieces and completely cover the baking dish with a foil.
  9. Be sure that you have covered the corners of the baking dish properly.
  10. Place the baking dish in your refrigerator and marinate overnight.
  11. Be sure to place the baking dish properly in the refrigerator as you do not want it to fall while you open and close the refrigerator door repeatedly.
  12. Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit / 165 degrees Centigrade.
  13. Take out the baking dish from refrigerator and remove the foil.
  14. Now, place the baking dish in the pre-heated oven and bake it for 1½ hours until the chicken pieces are well browned and their juices run clear.
  15. Make sure that the chicken is properly cooked so that you get the best flavour and taste.
  16. Remove the baking dish from the oven and place Bourbon Chicken on a large serving plate.
  17. Garnish your dish with fresh coriander leaves, chopped onion leaves or broccoli.
