Chicken Marsala is a lovely classic dish which is basically made by coating it with dry ingredients and then frying it. If you are an expert then you can also modify this dish depending upon your taste and your choice. This dish will surely become your family’s favourite dish because it can be easily made and takes next to no time to be served.
Ingredients
- All-purpose flour for coating - ¼ cup
- Salt - ½ teaspoon
- Ground black pepper - ¼ teaspoon
- Dried oregano - ½ teaspoon
- Skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - pounded ¼ inch thick - 4 pieces
- Butter - 4 tablespoons
- Olive oil - 4 tablespoons
- Sliced mushrooms - 1 cup
- Marsala wine - ½ cup
- Cooking sherry - ¼ cup
Instructions
- Before starting it is a good idea to carefully wipe or clean the entire work area that you will be using to ensure that it is free from any bacteria.
- Also, thoroughly wash your hands, utensils, ingredients and other items that you will be using to make this delicious recipe.
- Always keep your kitchen work areas clean and free from any clutter so that you can find what you are looking for while cooking.
- Take a deep bowl and add oregano, pepper, flour and salt.
- Mix the dry ingredients properly.
- If you want to add or reduce the flavours then you can limit the amount of dry ingredients that you use.
- This will not have a dramatic impact on the overall flavour or taste of this dish.
- In a skillet pour olive oil or melt butter.
- Try to limit the amount of butter or olive oil to avoid having the entire dish becoming too oily.
- Place the coated chicken pieces and fry them until they become brown and are cooked till the inside.
- Be careful while frying as you will want to make sure that the chicken is properly getting cooked.
- Keep on turning the chicken pieces and then add mushrooms in it.
- Make sure the chicken gets cooked evenly on both sides.
- Cover the skillet and let the chicken cook for further 10 more minutes.
- This will ensure that the chicken gets properly cooked from the inside.
- Keep on turning the chicken and make sure it is not pink form the inside and completely cooked.
- Take a nice platter and serve the prepared chicken.
