How to Create a CD or DVD Photo Jacket
You may have a large collection of CDs or DVDs at home. In such a situation, it is important that each CD or DVD be kept in a case with appropriate photo jacket. This will make it very simple to find a particular CD or DVD in not time at all. Fortunately, you can create CD or DVD photo jackets at home very easily. You will just need a computer with Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 installed on it, a coloured printer and few pieces of photographic paper or card stock.
Instructions
-
1
Launch a new session of Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 in Editor Mode. There will be a bin at the bottom of the Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 window. From that bin, select all the images that you plan on using.
-
2
There will be a tab labelled ‘Create’ at the Editor screen’s top right corner. Click that tab and choose ‘More Options’ from the drop down menu. A list of option will pop up on the screen. Choose ‘DVD Jacket’ from that list.
-
3
You will again be redirected to the ‘Options’ menu after you choose ‘DVD Jacket’. This is where you can choose that theme and the layout of the photo jacket that you are planning to print. Depending on the number of images that you chose in the first step, choose an appropriate layout. Check the option labelled ‘Auto Fill’ at the bottom of the page. This will automatically place all the images that you selected on the jacket. Click ‘Next’ after all the images have been added.
-
4
Editor 6.0 will take you to a page where you can adjust the size or position of all the used images. Make any changes if desired.
-
5
Adding a few words or lines of text may seem like a good idea. Write the text, change its font and colour as desired and make sure it looks visually according to your choice.
-
6
You now have to print the photo jacket. Point to the ‘File’ menu and click ‘Print’ from the drop down menu. Observe the print preview image carefully because you may need to change some of the print options such as specifying the actual size of the printed image and rotating the image for a snug fit if required. Print the photo jacket on a high quality photographic paper if possible. Alternatively, you can also card stock as well. Once you have taken care of all the options, click the button labelled ‘OK’.
