How to Create Backup of Entire Site Using Backup Wizard in cPanel

The user friendly interface of Backup Wizard in cPanel helps in creating backup for not only one file but it is capable enough to create a backup for the entire site. For new users who are not completely aware of cPanel’s functions this features seems quite helpful for them.

It is up to you whether you wish to save a portion of your website or the entire site, Backup Wizard can backup files according to your requirement. Besides Backup you can also restore files by using the restore link.

Do keep this in mind that a full backup cannot be used in order to restore your site through a cPanel interface. Before restoration you will have to download the file and then decompress it. After decompression of the file you will be able to bring back individual pieces of the website that contains backup files.

    Once you login to cPanel, on the homepage drag your cursor under the File tab and click on the Backup Wizard’s icon that is positioned in the first row forth column.

    A new page will open where you will have to select Full Backup.

    For the Destination of the backup wp-content/uploads you will have to make a choice from the three options. The options a mentioned below:

    - Home Directory From: if you select this option from the pull down menu then it will help you in storing the wp-content/uploads in home directory on the web server.
    - Method for file transfer: after selecting this option cPanel will be allowed to utilize SCP and FTP to save the file to a remote machine.
    - The third option is to skip the step; this is required when you have to download the file to your system.

    Next you will have to click Generate Backup.

    Under Backups Available, click the file name this will help you in downloading a copy of the backup file to your system.
