How to Create Emoticons in Yahoo Messenger
While using an instant messenger, it is usually very confusing to figure out whether the text you received from your Yahoo messenger friend was written sarcastically, in seriousness, or he/she was just messing around with you. But when emoticons were introduced in instant messengers, all ambiguities were removed because people were actually able to understand the type of emotion behind each text. Drag your cursor towards the start button and click it.

From the options shown click on ‘Search’.

A window named ‘Search Result’ will open up on your screen.

A long dialogue box will be seen on the right side of the window from where you will have to select the option ‘Files and Folders’.

Another dialogue box will appear asking you to ‘Search By Any or All of the Criteria Below’; you will have to type emote_user.dat in the ‘Name card’ field and then click ‘Search’.

Your computer will be searched for the file type you have demanded to be located.

When the file is found, double click it and then you will be asked to open any file of your choice by choosing a notepad.

When a file opens up you will have to add new emotes in the format, which is mentioned on the top of the file.

Save the changes that have been made and then close the file.
