How to Decorate a Preschooler’s Playroom

  Examine the playroom
  
  Inspect the playroom from all angles in order to get an idea of available space. Make a sketch of the room and decide the placement of the decorating materials according to the space on hand. Do not ignore the roof of the room as you can decorate it as well.

  Paint the playroom
  
  Painting is the simplest way to decorate kids’ play room. Keep the kids’ psyche in mind as they are the users so it should be up to their standard. Bright colors are considered as kids friendly as they will spark the kids’ imagination. Consider the primary colors like yellow, red and blue, which are liked by majority of kids. If you are decorating the room for girls, then you can go for purple, pink or peachy color. You can try blue, grey etc for boys. On the other hand, if the playroom is shared by both girls and boys, simply paint it any green shade. You can use different colors for the each wall.

  Put some characters on the walls of playroom
  
  Now, put some cartoon characters and scenery etc on the painted walls of the playroom, keeping the kids’ choice in mind. For example, you can make something like Spiderman, Batman etc for boys’ room and Barbie doll, Powerpuff girls etc for the girls’ room. Paint any beautiful scenery for both girls and boys room.
  
  Note: Keep the base color of the walls in mind while putting the character on them as it is important that they should be matching each other.

  Decorate the walls of the playroom
  
  It is the time to decorate the wall of the kids’ playroom. You have hundreds of choices in this regard where you can use many ready-made decoration items or the handmade ones. Decorate the walls with colorful frames, nice calendar, and piece of artwork etc. Put some memorable pictures of the kids on the walls.

  Showcase the kids' Artwork & certificates
  
  It is your golden chance to showcase your kids’ artwork and certificates in order to decorate their room along with letting others know about his or her capabilities.
  
  Note: Make sure to display the major ones only in order to avoid making the walls overstuffed.

  Install the shelves and storages
  
  Install some shelves on the walls, along the windows or any one corner of the kids’ playroom. Use an electric screwdriver to fix the shelves in order to install them properly and safely so they do not come toppling down on your kids. If you a limited budget for this step, then install the simple wooden shelves and paint them yourself. Otherwise use the ready-to-use ones which are easily available in the market with a fantastic artwork on them. Also install some kids’ storages in one corner of the play room where they can keep their things and lock them.

  Decorate the shelves
  
  Empty shelves do not like good, therefore, place some frames, story books or decoration item on them to give them more attractive finishing touch. Moreover, you can arrange the kids’ curriculum books, trophies, toys, and medals etc as well.

  Work on the roof of the playroom
  
  You can use some colorful roof hangers or eyelets to decorate the roof of the kids’ playroom. You can make the roof hangers at home as well. Otherwise, hang some flowers all across the roof of the room.

  Create a study corner for the kids
  
  Set a bookshelf, chair and a study in one corner of the kids’ playroom in order to provide them with an environment to spend moment reading their school or preferred books. Cover the floor of the study area with piece of carpet or mat. Make sure to put a kid’s lamp on the study table with proper lighting.  Place a well-designed basket nearby the kid’s bookshelf where they can put their stationery items.

  Choose and install the kids’ curtains
  
  Choose beautiful interior curtains for your kids’ playroom, keeping their choice or the room’s paint color in mind. Ready-made kid’s curtains are available in the market. Cover the windows of your kid’s playroom with the gorgeous curtains to give it more fabulous finishing touch.

  Indoor plants look good
  
  You can keep some medium indoor plants inside the kids’ playroom corners to create a natural look. Select colorful vases to set the indoor plants in it.

  Create a Fun Floor for the kids
  
  Create a fun floor for the kids, providing them with some play space. Set some attractive kids’ seating in the different corners of the room. Then place a medium but colorful kids mat right in the center of the floor where they can do their homework or drawings. You can paint the floor or can draw some characters on it.
