How to Defend against a Reverse Punch
Fighting is not all about attacking, as you need to be on the defensive sometimes. If you are against a weaker opponent, you can have the liberty of attacking him/her throughout. However, things are not the same when you are up against, who is almost twice the size as you are.
Therefore, you need to learn some techniques of self defence, which will come in handy for you no matter you are fighting on a street or a wrestling ring. Most people use the reverse punch as an attacking option, but you can easily block it and counter attack to take advantage.

1
Prepare yourself mentally
First of all, you need to accept the fact that you can be beaten. No one is invincible, so keep this in mind whenever you are involved in a fight. However, you can practice hard in order to improve your winning percentage. -
2
Get physically prepared
Once you have prepared yourself mentally, you need to make sure that your body is in an ideal position. Other than being strong, you need to be agile too, so that you can respond to your opponent’s actions quickly. -
3
Stay focussed
Whenever you are involved in a fight, you have to be sure that your eyes are glued at your rival. Even the smallest of mistakes can result in a failure for you, so keep your eyes open every time. -
4
Mix your moves
If you are on a continuous attack, you will become predictable and suffer a brutal attack from the other person. Therefore, you have to mix your moves and try being defensive at times too. You can only do that, if you are aware of how to nullify your opponent’s aggression. -
5
Curl up your hands
Since you will not have a lot of time to take preventive action, you will have to be in the correct position right from the start of the fight. In order to do so, curl up your hands, so that you can stop a reverse punch from the other person. -
6
Bend down
If you have seen the reverse punch coming, you can bend down to avoid being hit. This move is only recommended, if you have judged the move earlier. -
7
Go for counter attack
Defending does not only mean to stop the other person’s attack, but you have to go for the counter attack too. So, learn some attacking moves too, so that you can succeed in a fight.
