Know the power source

However, this is a wrong perception. Although it is important to have an overall strong physique in kickboxing, you need to work out the hip muscles in order to deliver the cross punch. So, go to the gym and do exercises, which will help develop muscles in your lower half of the body. -

Get into position
Positioning yourself correctly while fighting is extremely important. Stand side on and keep your arms lifted close to your chest. You should be able to move swiftly otherwise there will be no use fighting. -

Turn your hips
In order to generate force, you will be required to turn your hips quickly. This way, you will be able to gain a very good momentum and get the maximum results. Try deceiving your opponent with a short jab before you coming to the original move. -

Deliver the punch
The point where your hips stop moving is extremely crucial. The momentum you gain from this movement should not come to a halt and you need to carry it with your fist. So, turn your hips and generate force to deliver the power punch. Make sure that your opponent is in your range otherwise he will be able to counter your attack and bring your down pretty quickly. The punch should be delivered in the head of your rival.
