How to Do Back Handsprings on a Trampoline

Doing back handsprings on a trampoline is an advance trick to perform and it is not recommended for the beginners. You need to follow some simple steps so that you can perform back handsprings in a safe manner and avoid any possible injury.

    Start up with some jumping on the trampoline. Get comfortable with the bounce of the trampoline and note how much air you get. You must determine your highest bounce before trying the back handspring.

    It is better to have someone at your side before attempt this move. It will be safer to have someone assist you through the flipping motion and avoiding falling off the trampoline.

    You need to think and visualise about what you are going to do. You should be absolutely certain about the movements you are about to make, the height of the jump, the flipping and the spot of your landing. Every millisecond of your entire motion needs to be planned before hand.

    Stand away from the middle of the trampoline, with your feet and legs positioned closely together.

    Stretch both arms high above your head as far as you can, as if you are trying to touch the sky. Now bend your knees slightly and then bring your arms in the forward direction.

    Here comes the real part. Take a couple of small jumps before making the big jump. While making the final jump before the flipping trick, push down with all your weight so you can get some air afterwards. Jump as high as you can and arch your spine in a backward flipping motion.

    Bring your arms back swiftly when you jump, swinging your hands above your head and landing them on the surface of the trampoline behind you.

    You have to swing your entire body completely in a smooth backward motion and finally land on your feet again.
