Why you have to something you don’t want to

First of all you need to wonder why you need to do something which you do not like. It can either be a part of your job i.e. a need, or a commitment like an arranged situation.

    Think about the consequences

You need to figure out some better alternative for the required task.

In case you are working somewhere and decide not to go after the weekend, then you need to think what negative effect this will have on you. You need to take into consideration that not going to office won’t only lead to deduction of your pay but will have a bad impact on your work reputation. When the time of evaluation will come, you won’t be praised much and worst of all, you will get a lower raise, or even none at all. Worst case scenario is that you might get fired for not being regular.

You should jolt down a list of reasons why you need to do the work you don’t like. If you are willing to sacrifice all that then opt to be absent, otherwise make up your mind otherwise.

    Look at the positive aspects

Next you need to persuade yourself in doing the task you don’t want to by looking at its positive aspects. The biggest motivator in the office example given in step number two is money. Similarly, every time you force yourself into doing something boring, there is always something which can keep you going.

For example, if you have to listen to the boring speeches of your boss with a smiling face, do so for the sake of promotion and money.

    Mould your personality

If your routine is such that you have to consistently indulge in things which you don't like, try to mould your personality. Dig into things and try to sort out aspects which intrigue and interest you. There is no point pouting about things.
