How to Do the Over Swoop in Hacky Sack
The over swoop, also known as the pendulum, is a hacky sack foot stall technique, which means that part of the technique involves catching the Hacky Sack on your toe to stop its motion. After you catch the Hacky Sack, you swing your leg to launch it back to a friend as a pass, or to another part of your body to keep the hacky sack moving. The trick may appear really difficult to you, especially if you are a beginner, however, you can master it with constant practice and focus.
Instructions
-
1
Hold one foot out off the ground and in front of your body to learn the technique. Drop the hacky sack from shoulder level straight onto your foot when you are first learning the over swoop.
-
2
Catch the hacky sack on the toe of your shoe. As soon as you catch the hacky sack, begin moving your foot in a pendulum motion from the front of your body to behind your body. While doing this, make sure you do not shake your leg or foot. The pendulum motion should be smooth, or else, you may end up losing hold of hacky sack.
-
3
Extend your leg behind you as far as you can before you have to bend your leg to keep the hacky sack from falling off of your toe. The hacky sack will be more likely to fall off when you are practicing the motion slowly, so you may not have a good idea of how far this is until you speed up the motion. Again, the slower your motion will be, the more chances there will be for your leg to start shaking.

4
Flick your leg when you reach the point where you have to bend your knee, aiming the hacky sack up and over your shoulder. Try to give the hacky sack some projectile force to pass it to a friend, or at least get it high enough to catch with another part of your body. You should practice both the techniques – one for throwing hacky sack to a friend and the other to provide enough height to hacky sack that it can be caught using another part of your own body.
