How to Download Skins for Hotmail Messenger
Are you a regular user of Windows Live Messenger? Do you spend hours chatting with your friends online every day? If that is true, then you might be tired of looking at the same window all day long, and might want to bring a bit of color into your Windows Live Messenger. Even though Windows Hotmail Messenger does have some in-built themes, but they scarcely affect the overall look of your messenger.
This is where third-party themes come in. With vibrant colors, and nearly endless skins to choose from, you can overhaul the look of your Windows Hotmail Messenger according to your mood whenever you feel like. This guide will explain to you, in a few simple steps, how to download new skins for your Windows Hotmail Messenger.

First of all, open your browser and in the URL Section, type “www.msgplus.net”, and wait for the page to load.

Once it is done loading, look for the big green tab of “Download Free” near the bottom of the page. Drag your cursor onto it, and click the tab.

When you click on this tab, a browser pop-up will appear, asking whether you want to save or run file. Choose “Run” or “Open”. The file will download and run automatically.

After confirming all OS confirmations, a window will appear like the one in the picture below. Click “Accept and Install”.

A new window will appear, like the one in the picture below. Let the file download and Install. This whole process is automated.

Once the install is complete, another window will appear. Find the “Done” tab at the bottom of the window. Make sure that the check box is checked. Click the “Done” tab.

Once you do that, your Windows Hotmail Messenger window will open. Sign In to your Windows Live account.

When you are signed in, Messenger Plus! Configuration window will open. Just click next until it is done.

Next, your messenger window will open. You will notice that a lot of new icons have been added. To download new skins, go to “Plus” tab on the top-right corner of your messenger window. Click on it, and a drop down menu will appear. On this menu, select “Messenger Skins” and after that, “Get new Skins”, as shown in the picture.

This will open a new window in your browser, with skins. Click on a skin’s name to open a detailed view of that skin.

Click on the “Download” tab to download it. Click on “Run” when prompted by the browser.

Once the skin has downloaded, a Messenger Plus window will open, check the check box, and click on “Import”. Click “OK” to any window prompts.

After that you will be required to Sign In again, as Windows Hotmail messenger needs to restart itself when enabling a new skin. Your Skin will be changed once you sign back in.
