    Mittens

They are a great choice for toddlers as you do not have to fit every finger in the right place. They are warmer and easier to wear as compared to gloves. Buy mittens which have a lining in them as it acts as a shield against the chill. Also tie their strings to the sleeves of the sweater or jacket. This will ensure that wind doesn't pass in from the gaps.

    Socks

Make sure that he/she wears socks all the time; even when he is inside the house. Buy long socks so that his ankles also stay covered. Put on slippers inside the house so that he doesn't get in contact with the cold floor.

    Boots

When going outside, slip on a pair of lined waterproof boots. It is important to buy snow boots if it snows heavily in your area. Purchase a size that is not too tight so that you can put on two pairs of socks and also they will fit him the next season too.

    Hats

It is essential that your toddlers head is not exposed to the cold as a large amount of heat is lost. A hat will keep his head covered and trap the body heat. Even if the coat has a hood, make him/her wear a fitted hat. There are many varieties available; go for the one which covers the ears and can be tied under the chin. This way he will find it hard to take it off.
