How to Encourage Thinking by Drawing
One of the best ways to encourage thinking and expanding your child’s thoughts is by making him/her draw various objects as this exercise will help him/her see the creative side of his/her personality. For success, creative things are vital and the best thing about arousing creativity is that you can use so many media. In all fields and walks of life there is always a big need of creativity. For kids, it is necessary to encourage them to think differently from the conventional means as these habits will prepare them for the future and will make them strong individuals.

In order to arouse your son or daughter’s creativity, it is better to start with small objects so that they don’t get confused so early in the game. Identify and name parts of the object that you want them to study and then discuss with them the function of each of those parts.

You can also make a picture of the toy on a poster board or index cards. Then, cut the picture in two pieces and start with one picture and ask your child about the missing pieces.

Starting with body parts is also a great way to encourage thinking. Discuss all body parts with your child in detail and then present him with a picture of body parts and ask him purpose of each part. For example, show him a picture of a hand and ask him about the use of this particular part.

When you are confident that your kid has a firm idea through pictures, progress to puzzles in which each piece will form a picture. Rather than helping him out, give your kid clues every now and then if he is gets stuck on a piece for long.
