How to Enjoy the Mercer Museum
The Mercer museum, located in Pennsylvania, United States has a unique history of its own. It was a brilliant idea of a gentleman known as Henry Chapman Mercer who was an archaeologist himself. Mr Mercer believed that the progress of human civilization could be recorded by preserving the tools that they employ over the years. The museum was built by him in 1916 and it contained the collection of the artifacts of the pre-industrial life. He wanted to preserve the artisan culture that was rapidly being replaced by the industrial revolution. The museum is now a source of great information and exposure for visitors. Mercer used concrete to build the building so that it has a longer life. The whole museum is interesting and provides a learning experience but there are some special things you must witness when you plan a visit there. Our step by step guide lists them down.

1
Witness history:
For a museum as interesting as this, it is enough enjoyment in itself to browse through the items on display and read the information and stories about them. The collection now includes 40,000 items and each one of them has a story of its own. It could take you a whole day to file through the size story building. First time visitors will be intimidated by objects like whale boat hanging from the roof. The interesting thing is that the collection is just half of the amusement. The building itself is a marvel in itself with hand-crafted structures. -
