How to Exercise On a Cruise Ship
During your journey on a cruise ship, your daily calorie intake may go sky high because of the rich food abundantly available in buffets and snacks. For this reason, regular exercise becomes very important on a cruise ship, especially if you will be spending several days or even weeks on the ship. Luckily, most cruise ships have exercising facilities such as a gym where you can maintain a regular workout routine to stay in optimum shape.

1
Ask the reception desk where the on board fitness centre is located. In most cases, it will be a gym with modern exercise equipment such as treadmills to stationary bikes. Make regular visits to the fitness centre and maintain a regular workout routine. Remember you are not the only one planning to exercise and the fitness centre will get crowded at certain times. For your exercise routine, choose times like early mornings or late evening as majority of the cruise passengers will be asleep during these times.

Formal exercise classes are held on a number of cruise ships these days. In most cases, joining an exercise class will be free but you may be required to pay a nominal fee in some cases. If the facility is available, free or paid, join at least a couple of exercise classes. In a formal exercise class, an instructor will be overlooking things to make sure you are doing the exercise properly.

Do not use the cruise elevator. Prefer using the stair case for going on an upper deck if you are not in a hurry. Climbing stairs will keep you active and is a useful exercise.

Most cruise lines plan on-shore excursions. Apart from bit of a workout, you will be able to enjoy more personal time if you prefer a walking tour of the city or choose a bicycle ride over a bus ride.
