How to Fix a Fishing Rod Tip
For some, fishing is a hobby, whereas for others it is a profession. Irrespective of the reason why you are fishing, a common problem almost all fishermen face is the snapping of the fishing rod. A number of factors can cause a fishing rod to snap such as overhead tree branches and boat railings. In such a situation, one must know the proper way to fix the fishing rod tip. The task is fairly simple and does not require any specialised tools.
Things Required:
– Hot glue stick
– Lighter or match box
Instructions
-
1
Carefully examine the damage on the tip of the fishing rod. Try to find the exact location where the broken tip was originally attached to the fishing rod. This is important because without finding the original alignment of the tip on the fishing rod, you will not be able to fix the rod.
-
2
Gradually heat a glue stick with a lighter or a match until the glue starts to drip from the glue stick freely.
-
3
Carefully drop a small amount of glue from the melting glue stick onto the broken tip of the fishing rod. Make sure that the glue does not fall onto the fishing line because that will result in a new problem. Quickly attach the broken tip in its original place which you determined earlier. Hot glue dries quickly which means you only have a limited amount of time to reattach the broken tip.
-
4
Firmly hold the broken tip in place and wait for the glue to harden properly. This should not take more than a few seconds at most.
-
5
Hold the rod at level with one of your eyes. Close the other eye and check the alignment of the fishing rod. Perfect alignment will mean that you have properly fixed the fishing rod tip.
