How to Fix Swann Wireless Cameras

From time to time, you may come across a problem with your Swann wireless camera. Blank pictures, unclear images and lines in pictures are some of the familiar drawbacks that you may face with your Swann wireless camera. Some issues may occur due to wrong channel selection or incorrect receiver placement. Fortunately, you can troubleshoot these problems quite without taking technical assistance from an expert. All you need to do is to make a few adjustments to the receiver or the channel.

Here is how you can set about the task of fixing a Swann wireless camera.

    The first step towards fixing a problem with a Swann wireless camera is to turn on the receiver of the camera.

    After you have turned on the receiver, ensure that the receiver’s Audio / Video connection is not plugged into the ‘Audio Out’ socket.

    Blank picture problems and quality issues such as distorted picture may be resolved by setting the receiver to the appropriate channel. If you are getting a blank picture, set the receiver to channel 1 and if you are facing quality issues with the picture, set the receiver to channel 3.

    Toggle between channel 1 and 3 until you choose which channel works best for your Swann wireless camera.

    Improper supply of power may cause the camera to breakdown. Make sure that the camera is receiving power properly. Tighten the power connection if it is loose.

    If there are too many obstacles between the camera and the receiver, there is no way you will be able to get a good quality picture. Consider relocating the receiver to overcome this problem. Place it somewhere close to the camera with least number of obstacles between the camera and the receiver.

    To improve reception, consider readjusting the antennas.

    Electrical or magnetic interference caused by devices close to camera may cause it to malfunction. Make sure that no wireless equipment such as wireless baby monitors, wireless networking equipment and cordless phones are too close to the camera. If that is the case, move them as far away from the camera as possible.
