Driving vehicles is a skill which is not hard to learn and one can easily convert it into a reasonable source of income. There are many people out there who make a living out of driving commercial vehicles. The person who delivers FedEx or TCS packages to your address is a professional driver, same is the case with public transporters and the truck drivers. The one thing which all of them need is to have a commercial driving license under their belt.
The procedure for getting a commercial driver license is however a bit difficult than getting a normal driving license.

Know all the fundamental requirements for getting a commercial license before applying. The most important of them all; the person should be a minimum of 18 years of age. This age limit is for local or intrastate drivers. If you want to drive across states, you need to be a minimum of 21 years of age to get a country wide commercial driving licence.
You also need to have normal driving licence before applying for the commercial ones. Also prepare for a mild physical test, and a drug test by the authorities.
The offices of Department of motor vehicles have free manuals about getting licences. Find that manual and give it a thorough read. If you cannot find the required booklet, ask the receptionist to provide you a copy.

Study hard for the driving test. Test for getting a driving licence is compromised of two parts. The first part deals with general knowledge while the second part is about the general road skills. The general knowledge part is quite simple; you don’t need to prepare for it. However, you need to get the basics of the professional driver skill set and also learn specific information about passenger safety, weight limits and some other details.

Practice for the driver’s test. There are a number of online tools that offer free commercial driving licence tests. Read the manual 2 or 3 times at least and request your family members to quiz you from it. After passing the first test, prepare for the road driving test which is actually quite difficult. The test consists of three parts; driving, vehicle control and pre-inspection before driving. This test is more difficult than the normal driving test so come prepared.
