How to Get Nigeria Tourist Visit Visa from London

Tourism in Nigeria mostly revolves around cultural events as the country has a large number of racial groups.     Requirements


    Residents or non nationals of UK should provide proof of their legal stay in the country. Such people are advised to acquire their visas from their country of nationality, where Nigeria has an Embassy or Mission.


    a)     Provide any acceptable travel document or passport with at least six months validity at the time of travel.


    b)     Provide a printed copy of online visa application form.


    c)      One passport size picture should be attached to the visa form.


    d)     Provide a photocopy of payment confirmation.


    e)     Provide an invitation from Nigeria that should be addressed to Visa Section of Nigerian High Commission in London, accepting full immigration or proof of sustaining self while in Nigeria.


    f)       Provide proof of sufficient funds for the trip.


    g)     In case of staying with a friend or relative provide copy of his or her passport.


    h)     Deposit appropriate visa fee.


    i)       If travelling by land by their own vehicle then, applicant should also affix photocopy of their vehicle details to their visa form.


    j)       Also provide the proof of Entry Visa or Entry Permit to the country through which applicant is passing by in case of transit before entering into Nigeria should be endorsed in the passport.


    k)     High Commission of Nigeria may call an applicant for interview before issuing him a visa.


    l)       In case an expatriate worker is inviting the applicant then, you should also attach copy of the Residence Permit of the inviter.


    m)  Multiple visas are issued at the discretion of the Visa Officer.

    Visa Fee


    Tourist visa fee of Nigeria is N 9700 for 6 months stay (single entry) and in case of British postal don’t forget to include £20 processing fees that should be made payable to the Nigerian High Commission in London. For details visit Nigeria Immigration service website.

    Mode of Payment

    Submission

    Check Status of Visa Application

    Collect Visa


    In case application is submitted by registered mail, the applicant will receive his or her visa by the same service. Other applicants should contact Nigeria High Commission in London (see the address above) to determine from where they collect their visa. Collection timings of visas are 3.30pm - 4.30pm, while passports can be obtained during 10.00am - 1.00pm.

    Check List


    a)      Check all step 1 documents once again.

    b)      Verify your passport once again to make sure that it is valid for minimum six months.

    c)       Leave a copy of journey plan and contact info of hotel in Nigeria.

    d)      Ask from your insurance company what do they cover. Do they also cover health and baggage?

    e)      Check departure timing of flight before going to the airport.

    f)       Verify before travelling that credit/debit cards, cheques are widely accepted widely in Nigeria or not.

    Things allowed for tourists to take along with them


    Find out how many suit cases a tourist can carry with him, plus know how much a baggage should weight from the authorities at the Nigeria High Commission in London and ask them about the things that are not allowed in Nigeria for tourists.
