How to Get Paid CDL Training
Transportation businesses are always booming as they are one of the most important components in any business chain. Without inland transport, the business functions will come to a halt. Trucks play an important role in transportation and drivers are always in demand.
The transportation companies require their drivers to have a commercial driver’s license. It is something that is beneficial but does cost a bit especially when you are getting the appropriate training. If you act smartly, there is a very good chance that you can get the training paid for and also get paid while you train.

Have the Prerequisites
Make sure that you have completed all the prerequisites of acquiring a commercial driving license. You should be at least 18 years of age, have a clean driving record and be in good physical shape. Make sure that you stay away from drugs otherwise you will be disqualified right away. You will often be required to have a high school diploma or a GED to get into the training as well. -

Get Employed
The next step is to look for job listings in the newspaper. Find transportation companies that are looking for drivers and particularly young ones that they are willing to train. Drop off your resume to companies that have been operating for a while. See if they are willing to employ you and get you into the driver’s license training but also pay you during the process as an employee. Some new companies may be willing to provide you with the incentive as they are looking for fresh and energetic employees. -

Sign a Contract
Once you find a company that is willing to bear the expenses of your commercial driver’s license training and also pay you as an employee during this period, sign a contract with them. They will most likely require you to work for them for at least one year if not more. In case you leave early, you will be liable to pay them for the charges they paid for your training. Generally it is not advised that too many jobs are switched early on in any career and it is best that the first job is kept for at least a couple of years.
