How to Get Rid of Nits in No Time

Leaving hair untreated for lice for a longer period of time can leave it with infestation of lice eggs called nits. The tiny eggs are not easy to remove from the hair, but if you leave them in the hair, the problem of lice can return when the eggs hatch. However, quick removal of nits can avoid them from hatching, which takes several weeks. Nits removal is not an easy job. There is no particular purpose-made formula, except for some products available in the market such as shampoos and with their frequent use you can get rid of nits in no time.

    Check Hair With Nits

    If you have lice problem and are sure that you have gotten rid of them, think again. Their eggs or nits can be in your hair for a longer period of time and can hatch to spread the lice again. It is better that you should check your hair for nits regularly. They are either in cream or brown colour and can mainly be spotted around the ears and hairline on top.

    Shampoo and Conditioning of Hair

    Wash your hair with an anti-lice shampoo or any other non-medicated shampoo thoroughly, and then condition it properly. Conditioning of hair is essential because it will make combing easier, especially if your hair is curly.

    Combing Your Hair

    Use a strong and possible thick tooth comb to comb your hair through. It is better to separate your hair into sections first and then use comb. Start from the roots area and comb through towards ends. Do not leave any part of your hair. While using comb, also observe if it contains nits, and clean it before using again.

    Rewashing and Conditioning

    After you notice that no nits are being carried in the comb, wash the comb. Also, rewash your hair with the shampoo and condition them again. If you feel a need for combing again, comb them again the way you did earlier to make sure no nit is left in the hair.

    Washing Clothes

    It is better you wash your clothes with hot water. Also wash your bed sheets, pillow cases and other stuff that you use regularly. It is possible they will contain nits, as they can drop down on you while you sleep.

    Repeat the Process Frequently

    Check your hair for nits every now and then and shampoo your hair to remove nits. If you do it regularly, it is most likely you can permanently get rid of nits and lice from your hair. Do not leave your hair without shampoo for a longer period of time.
