    Rubbing plain plastic bag


    First you need to rub a simple plastic bag on the areas of the hand which are sticky with the silicone sealant. This will remove as much of the product as you want especially large pieces.


    You can use the simple plastic bag which you get at the grocery or any departmental store.

    Wash with water


    After rubbing off large pieces with plastic bag, rinse your hands with water.

    Apply Acetone Nail Polish Remover


    Apply the nail polish remover to the sealant on your hands after washing your hands. You can use a cotton pad in order to apply the nail polish remover.


    Remember to apply the acetone nail polish remover in a well ventilated room as it is a powerful solvent.



    This tip is also useful in removing several sticky substances used in home repair.

    Rubbing off Silicone Sealant


    After applying the acetone nail polish remover, rub off the residual product. The acetone in the nail polish remover dissolves silicone sealant and makes a residual product which can be easily removed.

    After getting rid of remaining silicone sealant from your hands with the help from nail polish remover, wash your hands once again. Wash it in warm, soapy water.


    Remember that acetone may dry your skin so you can apply moisturizer to your hands.
