How to Give a Newborn a Sponge Bath

Many misconceptions surround the minds of couples after a newborn is born. One of these fallacies is giving your newborn a bath every day. One should keep in mind that newborns are very sensitive as compared to grown-ups and are deeply affected by the sudden cold or hot climate. One should not forget to keep a balance between the temperatures else your newborn can be severely ill.

Most people treat newborns like born ups and give them a bath every morning but unfortunately this is not necessary. No matter how careful you be while giving bath to your newborn, there is always a good possibility that the baby can catch cold. You should keep in mind that two to three times bath a week is more than enough for a newborn. However, to keep the baby clean and tidy, you should increase the use of wipes after feeding him/her or while changing the diapers.

One should not increase the number of baths from two to three times until their baby starts crawling. Rather than giving a full bath to your baby, you should focus on giving sponge baths until your baby’s belly button is absolutely healed. Nevertheless, giving a meticulous sponge bath to your baby is of utmost importance.
