How to Grow a Garden in a Small Space

There are a huge number of people who want to grow garden in their home but think that they have not enough space for that purpose.     First of all, you should select the place or area in your home where you want to grow a garden. Make sure you have selected a place that gets direct sunlight.

    Then you should treat the soil of the area with organic manure or organic peat. If you think the soil is not appropriate for gardening, then you can also bring soil from the local garden center.

    Make sure you have removed the weeds and grass from the soil which will help in growing corn, tomatoes, squash, herbs, cucumbers and peppers.

    Now draw a sketch on a paper about what you want to grow in your garden and what will be the sequence of those plants. Make sure you give height to the vegetables by supporting them with sticks, otherwise they will spread around and you will not be able to manage them in a small place.

    You should also leave a little space between the rows for walking. It will help you to walk through and check the growth of plants on regular basis.

    Now you should buy plants and seeds of corn, cucumbers and squash. You should build a round mound of soil for growing cucumbers and plant almost 6 seeds around the top circle of the mound.

    Make sure you have covered the seeds with around 1 inch soil. You should also build a fence near cucumbers as it will allow cucumbers to grow upwards.

    You should also plant the seeds of other vegetables and give them proper support when they start coming out of the soil in order to grow them upwards. It will help in giving sufficient space and you can accommodate more plants or vegetables in the garden.

    Use stakes to keep tomatoes grow upwards which will avoid blocking sunlight from other vegetable plants. Also remove if there is any unwanted grass or weed start growing along with other plants.
