How to Have a Lucid Dream

A lucid dream is the one in which you are aware that you are dreaming without waking up. By controlling and manipulating, you can eventually turn sleeping to your active waking time. By this you can do anything and everything. The awareness of dreaming in a dream can vary. It mostly occurs during the middle of a dream when a person realises he/she is dreaming. After you realise that you are dreaming, you can control it. This is the vital part of lucid dreaming.

    Am i dreaming

    You need to ask yourself repeatedly in day that are you dreaming or not. You need to perform some reality check such as pinching whenever you recall. When you repeatedly do this in the whole day, you will eventually remember it in your dream.

    Recalling your dream

    You need to remember your dream before going to sleep. Without remembering, you won’t be able to know you had a lucid dream or not. You need to remember the mental adventures and clear your remaining thoughts. By this, you will mentally prepare your mind for a lucid dream.

    Dream journal

    Make a dream journal and jolt down your dreams in it. Lay the journal near your bed so you can easily reach after you wake up in the middle of the night. You should quickly right all the details of the dream in it. Remember to not allow your mind erase your dreams and you can do this only if you write right after waking up.

    Watch out for items or themes for lucid dreaming

    You need to check things, items, images or even themes which will help you induce a lucid dream. You can check that if you have super powers like flying or super strength, if there is a purple sky or a red dog, you will definitely click that you are dreaming. You may also find yourself naked at once or lose the ability to walk.

    Maintain your lucid dream state

    You need to maintain your lucid dreaming state when you realise that you are dreaming. You can do this by spinning around in circle or even by focusing on your hands. You might feel that you are slipping away from your dream but remain focus. Try confronting yourself for not waking up.
