How to Help Children be Brave before Lights Out
Children often face issues while being in dark. Most of the kids are not used to light outs and they start to panic whenever they have to face the darkness. You should handle such situations carefully and do not try to push them. Remember that scolding or staring your children is not the solution to everything and you must handle such situations delicately. You may find it hard to control your children in such times as they often start weeping when the lights are turned off.

1
Do not scold them
You should never scold your children on such issues. Note that scolding your children in times like these will only make the things worst. Therefore, you should talk to them with love and explain to them the reason of turning the lights off. Of course, they will not be able to get the reason in a day or two and it may require a series of session with your kids. Thus, you must keep that in mind and be willing to talk to your children and help them in getting over their fears. -
2
Explain the reason
Nothing is better than trying to explain the reasoning of a particular thing. Therefore, you must talk to your kid about the reason of switching off the lights. If your kid is afraid of switching off the lights at night, you must tell him that it is necessary otherwise it would be a waste of resources that we cannot afford to make. You should explain to him that there is no use of electricity at night and all of it would be wasted if he keeps the light on. For starters, you should consider turning off the lights after your child is asleep as this might be able to help you. -
3
Tell him stories
If you are trying to help your kid sleep, you must turn off the lights and stay with him for a while. You should consider telling him bed time stories and keep his mind occupied until he is asleep. You should first make sure that your kid is asleep and only then you should walk out of the room. Remember that you must do it for a couple of days and then ask your child to go to the bed on his own. Do not forget to tell him how brave he is and the light outs will not do any harm to him.
