How to Hide Your Email Address on Facebook
Facebook is indeed an excellent way of staying in touch with your network of friends and getting to know new people. Distances can be removed by a mere click of a finger now, thanks to what is arguably the most popular social networking website on the Internet.
Since you provide a fair bit of personal information while creating your Facebook account, sometimes it is best to make the information hidden from your contacts any other Facebook users for safety purposes. Fortunately, Facebook has kept the method to change privacy settings really simple.

The first thing you need to do is to open your web browser on your smartphone or computer and visit facebook.com. Enter your username and password and press “Log In” to log into your account.

Once you log onto your Facebook account, you will find yourself on the “News Feed” page. Navigate to your profile page by locating and clicking your name in the top-right corner of the panel. If you do not see your name there, look for it in the top-left corner.

After you reach your profile page, look for the “”Update Info” button right below your “Cover Photo” and left of the “Activity Log” tab. Click the “Update Info” to access settings relating to your personal information such as “Work and Education,” “Living,” “Family,” “About You,” “Basic Info,” “Contact Info,” etc.

Click the edit button in front of the “Contact Info” tab to access the contact information settings. This will open a context menu, displaying the list of e-mail addresses associated with your account, along with your mobile phone number, other phone numbers, IM screen names, address, city, zip code, website and network.

Select the privacy setting for your e-mail address by clicking on the button to the right of the e-mail addresses. The primary e-mail address will have a button which looks like a wheel in front of it, while the secondary e-mail addresses will have something that looks like a silhouette of people in front of them. Click the button that looks like a wheel to display a drop-down menu and select “Only Me” if you do not want it to be visible to anyone. Selecting the “Custom” option allows you to specify people who can view your e-mail address and who cannot.

Once you are done making changes to the privacy setting of your e-mail address, click the “Save” button at the bottom of the panel to save changes.
