How to Improve Bat Speed and Power

Whether you are playing cricket or baseball, an important factor is to have a good bat speed, as it allows you to hit the ball over the boundary by a clear distance. However, you need to practice a lot in order to be equipped with this tremendous ability.

Some people are naturally gifted with a lot of talent and such things don’t require much hard work from them. However, there are a lot of others who have to work extremely hard in order to be perfect for sports.

Even if one is naturally talented, there are things which need to be done to become a professional cricketer or baseball player. You have to exercise a lot and practice hard to become a successful sportsman.

Let’s say that you have got an excellent bat speed and you are about to face a bowler or pitcher. In both cases, you will have to consider a lot of things while swinging the bat otherwise you will not get the desired result.

If you are playing cricket, you will have to look for the release of the ball from the bowler’s hand. Moreover, you should be aware of the speed with which the ball will come at you, once it pitches. Only then will be you be in a position to time your swing perfectly otherwise you will either miss or get caught somewhere in the field.

In case of baseball, you don’t have to worry about the pitch, as the ball will not be bounced before it reaches you. However, you should watch out for the length and direction, as it should be in your zone to hit. After you have judged these things, you can then go for the maximum.

Other than timing the ball, you need a lot of arm strength to strike the ball out of the boundary.
