    Believe in yourself:

Mostly, this hesitation is the by-product of a lack of confidence. In such case, only you can get rid of this as you need to believe in yourself to face the world confidently. Stand in front of a mirror, look into your eyes and say “You can influence others”, “You are superior to them”, “They want to listen you” etc.

Take it as a friendly chat:

Sometimes, it’s just the pressure of the moment that confounds you and thus, you fail to make eye contact with people. You can make things better by taking your meeting just as a friendly chat. Just be natural and address the way you speak to your friends.

    Divert your mind:

Remember, it’s all about controlling your mind so just imagine that you are having an individual conversation. While addressing a group, pick one person and fix your eyes on that person. Change your target after finishing one thought and keep doing so until you finish your speech. This will ensure that you include every person in the group.

Choose a spot between or above the eyes:

Another technique is to choose a spot between the eyes or slightly above the eyes and keep the other person engaged. Keeping your eyes slightly out of focus also works if you feel trouble in establishing direct eye contact.

    Concentrate on one eye:

Instead of looking in both eyes at the same time, try to focus on just one eye. However, keep switching from one to another otherwise the opponent will catch your trick and you will lose your attention.

    Listen more:

If the problem is still there then introduce pauses in your conversation. Try to speak less and listen more as this will give you a margin to look around.
