Remove Sources
Mosquitoes are generally found on puddles of water that are stagnant. If you have any such problem near your house, it is best that the puddle is taken care of. This can be done simply by pouring soil over these puddles in order to fix the issue once and for all. -
2
Lotions
There are lotions or insect repellants in the market which are available for the purpose of keeping mosquitoes away. Place them on your arms and feet if you are wearing open end shoes and the smell of the lotion will make the mosquitoes go away as they get irritated by it. -
3
Plants
There are certain plants whose smell the mosquitoes cannot stand and they go away. These include marigolds, rosemary and catnip. These can be placed around the house for the purpose of keeping mosquitoes away on a permanent basis. -
4
Lemon Eucalyptus Oil
This is easily available in drug stores and you can take advantage of these particularly when you are going outside the house. The best way to use it is to add five or so drops of the oil to approximately one cup of water. Spray this solution on to yourself a couple of times with the help of a spray bottle as this will keep the mosquitoes away from you. -
5
Nets
Nets can be placed in several places to be very effective. You can have them outside the window so that in case you open it, the mosquitoes still cannot enter the house. Other options include having them over the beds to allow you a good night’s sleep. These nets will protect you from mosquitoes. -
6
Coil
This is one of the options that may pose some annoyance and may cause some discomfort as well. Coils have a very strong smell and are more than useful in keeping the mosquitoes away at any time of the day. They, however, also make it hard for the people to sit around in their presence.
