How to Layer Hair Extensions
With little care and a professional approach, hair extensions can be made to look as natural as your real hair. The only problem with hair extensions is that they cannot be styled well if not cut properly. If the cuts are too prominent, the extensions will not blend in with your natural hair. However, cutting your extensions isn’t enough, you will need to layer them properly to ensure best results.

It is recommended that you shampoo and condition your own hair as well as the hair extensions before use.

The next step is to dry the extensions with a towel but leave them a little on the wet side. It is also recommended that you keep a water bottle with you to use if the ends get too dry.

Now you have to part the hair right from the middle of the scalp all the way back to the neck.

In the next step you now have to cut to the temple by starting from the middle. You need to do this in front of the left and right ear. Now comb the rest of the hair back.

Focus on one side and comb all the hair from that side onto your face. You need to hold the hair between the index and middle finger of your left hand. Now begin to cut with the right hand in a way that the length stops on your nose, for which you would need to begin from the nose towards the end of the eyebrow.

In case you want shorter layers, you need to cut a little higher from the tip of the nose, but not too high.

Now make another part on the side of your scalp just an inch behind the first part, you need to do this in a straight line. The part which is already cut needs to be held and put on top of the head.

In the next step you need to pull the uncut part against this section as this will make it quite easy for you to distinguish them. If it is hard to distinguish then spray water on both parts, cut the second part by using the first part as your guide.
