How to Make a Backdraft Cocktail

For winter evenings, Backdraft Cocktail is surely a special treat that will make your celebrations more overwhelming and festive. The ingredients used in this cocktail are inflammable and that one of the reasons why it is named as Backdraft Cocktail. The elaborate potency and preparation of this drink  is another reason why it is renowned as Backdraft.

Three ingredients, chartreuse, sambuca, and cinnamon powder fantastically produces an amazing flavor. Every ingredient plays its own distinctive role in helping the drink acquire the fame it has received over the years. Italian colorless liqueur flavored with essential oils, sambuca, along with chartreuse – a French Liqueur introduced in 1740s – are simmered together which helps in extracting the actual taste of the cocktail. Beside winters, you can also enjoy this fabulous cocktail in the evening parties, formal or semi-formal occasion in summers.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Serving Size: 3 servings
Utensils Required: Shot glass, saucer, pint glass

Ingredients:

– 20 ml of green chartreuse
– 20 ml of black sambuca
– 5 pinch of cinnamon powder
– 1 dozen of ice cubes

Instructions

    Take a saucer and place a shot glass in the middle of the saucer.

    Fill the shot glass with sambuca.

    Take a pint glass and add Cointreau. Ignite Cointreau until the glass edges are warm when touched.

    Add the warm sambuca in the pint glass and then ignite the mixture of sambuca and cointreau.

    While the liquid is on heat, sprinkle cinnamon powder in it.

    Keep the mixture on the stove for 1 minute before removing it.

    Add crushed ice to the pint glass. This will help in cooling the alcohol’s vapors.

    At the end, garnish the glass with a lemon wedge or an orange wedge depending upon your choice.
