How to Make a Doll Headboard
Make your baby girl happy by making a headboard for her doll house bed. Headboards enhances the overall look of the dollhouse bed, giving it a classy finishing touch. It is better to use a fine quality cardboard as it is sturdy and can add up as a fancy look to the doll bed as you want it.
Making a doll headboard is easier than it looks like. It doesn’t need any special carpentry skills. Once you make it, you can use some decoration ideas to enhance its overall look.
Things Required:
– Cardboard
– Measuring tape
– Scalpel- Small hand saw
– Acrylic or wood paints – of your choice
– Medium and small paintbrush
– Nails, screws, or hot glue gun

Pick a measuring tape and gauge the width of the dollhouse bed.

Once you take the measurement, use a large scale and lead pencil to mark the width on the selected cardboard.

Considering the marked width as a base, draw your desired Doll Headboard design (outline) on the cardboard.

Now use a small hand saw to cut out the headboard’s outline on the cardboard.

Clean-cut all the possible uneven edges with the help of a scalpel and use a sandpaper to smooth the edges of the headboard outline.

Pick the headboard’s outline and hold it up to the doll bed’s width in order to make sure that it is according to the measurement and fits properly.

It is the time to paint the headboard according to the colour of the doll’s bed. You can use paints in contrast as well- depending on yours or you baby girl’s choice. Take a small paint brush, dip it into the selected paint and coat the headboard with it, covering all sides. Leave it for some time until dry completely.

Once the base paint of the headboard is dry, you can make some designs on it, using various paint colours and small paint brushes. You can consider details like wood grain, various shapes, swirls, hearts etc.

Once the headboard is absolutely dry, carefully line it to the end of the doll’s bed and fix it with the help of some small nails or screws. If the doll bed is small one, then you can use a wood glue or hot glue gun.
