How to Make a Good Valentine’s Day Drink
Valentine’s Day is a special event for everyone around the world as it is a time to celebrate close relationships. While everyone buys gifts, flowers and chocolates to give away, you can always take a step forward and make your loved ones feel special by serving home cooked food and drinks. If you are hosting a party at home or simply planning a dinner date with your partner, here is a simple Valentine’s Day drink you can make yourself for the occasion. This drink is also known as Amore Vietato, which means ‘Forbidden Love’.
Things Required:
- 2 Oz. Hendricks gin
- 4 Slices of Cucumber
- Dash simple syrup
- 2 Strawberries
- 1 Oz. blood orange juice

First of all start off by muddling fruit with simple syrup. This is to add the basic layer of the drink which you are about to make. You will require 2 strawberries. However, people tend to add different fruits in order to add the flavour which they love. Since it is a special Valentine's Day drink, then the colour red is always preferred over all others. Therefore, opt for Strawberries since they will give out red or pink coloured juice.

After you have completed mixing fruit with simple syrup, it's time for you to add gin and blood orange juice. It is always advised to take out blood orange juice because it is the closest you can get to the colour red. If you are going for the traditional orange juice then always remember that the final colour of the drink will not be what you want it to be. Gin will add the traditional berry flavour into the picture. However, it is basically the spirit that you want to add into your drink and not really the berries.

Once you have mixed up fruits, simple syrup, gin and blood orange juice, it is time for you to mix them for as long as you desire. Later, pour them into a martini glass. This is the perfect way to serve the drink. However, there is still a little more to add to your drink.

It is time for you to garnish the drink. How will you do it? With a certain red coloured fruit. Grab yourselves some strawberries (2 are preferred). Make cucumber spirals and orange peel hearts to fully decorate the drinks and then add a few strawberries on the top. This will dress your drink up nicely.
