How to Make a Milk and Honey Hair Smoothie for Ethnic Hair
A milk and honey hair smoothie can be a great treatment for ethnic hair that has been through the grinder, and is rough, dry, brittle, and in desperate need of moisture and nourishment. Packed with the moisturising powers of coconut milk and honey, this potent smoothie is further boosted by the presence of ingredients like avocado, olive oil, and mayonnaise, all of which repair cuticles, smooth and soften hair, and lend it an irresistibly healthy shine.
Things Required:
– 1 can coconut milk
– Blender
– 3 tsp. honey
– 1/2 peeled avocado
– Spatula
– 1 cup olive oil
– 1/4 cup mayonnaise
– Small plastic container with a lid
Instructions

To begin, pour an entire can of coconut milk into the blender – make sure you shake up the can of coconut milk before pouring it in, in order to evenly distribute the contents of the can. Coconut milk is rich and has a good fat content, all of which makes it an ideal base for your hair smoothie. Then, follow it up by adding 3 teaspoons honey and half a peeled avocado into the coconut milk.

Turn the blender on and pulse for a minute or two. Stop to scrape down the sides of the blender with a spatula, as the soft avocado may end up sticking to the walls of the blender. Once all these ingredients are blended, proceed to add a cup of olive oil, and 1/4 cup mayonnaise to the concoction.

Now, turn the blender on and pulse until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined. The mixture should take on a uniform colour, and there should be no lumps or discoloured bits. When the texture becomes smooth and creamy, you will know the milk and honey hair smoothie is ready.

To use, apply the smoothie from root to tip either as a moisturising treatment before a shower, or as a deep conditioner during a bath. To store, pour the smoothie into a small plastic container with a tight, secure lid, and keep it in the refrigerator at all times, until it is needed.
