How to Make a Mini-Video In Windows Vista

Creating a mini-video comprising of small videos is a great way of saving different memories in just one video file. You can use different video editing software programs to create such videos, and Windows Movie Maker is one such software program, which comes with Microsoft Windows Vista.

    Run Windows Movie Maker program by double clicking on its short-cut icon on desktop, or selecting it from the “Programs” section in “Start” menu.

    At the top left corner, right under “File” menu, you need to click the “Import Media” button. You will now be required to select the videos that you want to use to create single video file.

    Right click on the file and select “Add to Timeline” and the video will be added to the Windows Movie Maker’s timeline. You can repeat the same process for each video file that you want to add to the timeline.

    If you feel that the order of the videos added on the timeline should be changed, then you can click on your target video on the timeline and drag it to the position where you want it to appear.

    If you want to add any background music, then you will have to select “Audio or Music” on the “Import Media” window and right click on the music file which you want to add as your background music. Select “Add to Timeline” and the music will be added to the video.

    You can synchronise the audio file with videos, by dragging the beginning part of the audio file to the position where you want it to play.

    Now go to “Transitions” drop-down menu and select a transition for the first clip. A transition makes the switching process, from one video clip to another, to look more professional, smooth and aesthetic.

    You can also add Credits, Narrations, Titles, etc. as per your requirements. Once you are done with editing your video, click the “Publish Video” button, and you will be required to specify a location where you want to publish, or save, your video clip.
