How to Make a Missouri Mule Cocktail
Joe Gilmore, the celebrated and creative bar tender at Savoy Hotel’s American Bar, is known for his cocktails named after famous personalities and events. Be it for Queen Elizabeth, Richard Nixon or to celebrate the first walk on the moon, Joe had cocktails mixed and named for all of them.This one was for Henry S Truman, once President of the United States. The name is quite symbolic; Missouri is the home state of the President while Mule is the official mascot of the Democratic party, thus the name Missouri Mule. The cocktail is made by mixing Bourbon whiskey, Apple Jack, Lemon Juice and Campari. From the ingredients you can judge how stimulating a mixture it must be. Preparation time: Will not take you more than ten easy minutes
Serving size: 01 person (proportionately increase for more people)
Utensils needed: Cocktail shaker, Cocktail glass
Ingredients:
– 2 parts Bourbon whiskey
– 2 parts Applejack
– 2 parts Lemon Juice
– 1 part Campari
– 1 part Cointreau
– crushed ice as required

Chill your cocktail glass in the refrigerator so that your drink tastes best.

Pour the Bourbon, Apple Jack, Lemon Juice, Campari and Cointreau into the shaker. There is no specific order to be followed here. Then top it up with the ice. Close the lid carefully to avoid any spills.

Shake hard with both hands for a good half minute so that you get an even mixture.

Take out your now chilled glass and strain the mixture into it. Garnish with lemon. Stick a wedge to the glass side or let a lemon peel float in the drink. All the same refreshing. Here is to all the good drinks in the world. Cheers!!
